If a gear is being cut with a dividing head, then the number of steps on the dividing head determine the numbers of teeth that can be cut on the gear.  There are ways round this, e.g. rotary table, using the dividing head to skip steps.  Presented below are the numbers which will divide into 720, although you can key in different numbers and press submit to get different results.
